The tastiest way to cool your summer
May 25, 2023
Happy Thursday morning! And this evening will be happy as puck if the Golden Knights beat the Dallas Stars (which has apologized for its fans’ behavior on Tuesday) to earn a second trip to the Stanley Cup finals. 🏒

What's CITY Talking About?
Stadium Inches Closer to Home
State and county leaders and Oakland A’s officials have tentatively agreed on a stadium-funding plan, presumably for the Tropicana site. Total public cost: about $380 million, split between the state and Clark County in the form of tax credits and bonds, some of which would be repaid over time. Public money represents approximately 25% of the total project cost — said to be among the lowest in recent baseball stadium builds. A bill still needs to be presented to the Legislature. Stopping Electile Dysfunction?
The Legislature has passed a bill criminalizing the creation of “fake electors” in elections — now the question becomes whether Gov. Joe Lombardo will sign it. While he’s said he doesn’t believe the 2020 election was stolen, he recently endorsed one of the GOP’s six faux electors. [Nevada Current]
Safe Hospital
When it comes to “injuries, accidents, infections, safety problems, and preventable errors,” Henderson Hospital is the only local hospital to receive an A rating in a watchdog group’s biannual survey of hospital safety. [KSNV]
