Buenos días, Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Knights are Stanley Cup champions! What’s even more impressive is that they did it just six years after becoming an expansion team. Can we just make today a national holiday?

What's CITY Talking About?
🏗️ African American Museum and Cultural Center Coming to Historic Westside
The city of Las Vegas is seeking public participation as it moves forward with the proposed campus, which aims to bring cohesion to the stories and contributions of African Americans in Las Vegas. Architectural design firm Gallagher & Associates — responsible for the Las Vegas Mob Museum — was chosen to lead the project as part of the Historic Urban Neighborhood Design Redevelopment plan. The first of three public workshops takes place this Friday. (City of Las Vegas)

🏚️ Sinking Homes Controversy in North Las Vegas Raises Liability Concerns
The City of North Las Vegas is facing criticism for using federal funds to attract new buyers to Windsor Park, a predominantly Black neighborhood plagued by sinking homes due to a depleting aquifer. While the city previously used federal money to relocate homeowners, it has done little to address the deteriorating conditions in the area or inform potential buyers about the sinking issue. A new bill seeks to allocate funds for relocating the remaining homeowners and prevent further sales in the sinking neighborhood, but legal experts argue that the government's handling of the situation may leave it liable for significant damages. 🚨 School District Responds to ACLU Lawsuit Over Police Incident Records
The Clark County School District is calling an American Civil Liberty Union’s request for internal communications excessive and burdensome, saying the organization is seeking the information related to a school police officer accused of forcefully slamming a Black student to the ground without adequately demonstrating public benefit. A hearing for the case is scheduled for July 11. (Review-Journal)

Las Vegas Chatter

Las Vegas cannot get enough alien gossip since reports of a UFO crash and non-human creatures last week. Hey Las Vegas editor Scott posed a great question for readers earlier this week: where would you take an alien if they visited Las Vegas? Here are your extraterrestrial must-visits.
💙 “Blue Man Group - They probably speak the same language!”
— Reader Zachariah W.
🛸 Lynda I. says, “They should bust the Atomic Testing Museum or the Strip at night.”

👭 Jackie H. wants a reunion: “Go visit their relatives at Area 51.”
What about you? If aliens are truly landing in Vegas, where would you take them?
