👻 Is Tupac’s death car haunted?

July 31, 2023

Good morning. School begins a week from today, which brings the spotlight back to teen mental health. On Friday, the organization Hope Means Nevada will host a youth-led discussion on the topic. You can attend in person or stream it.

What's CITY Talking About?

🏈 Bad Odds

Three games. That’s how many victories USA Today projects the Raiders to pick up in the forthcoming season. The rest of the betting industry isn’t any more optimistic, either. [Review-Journal]

🤔 Buy Tupac’s Death Car?

Now that Tupac Shakur’s murder case seems active again, let’s note that for a cool $1.75 million, you can own the BMW sedan the hip-hop star died in back in 1996. Along with its clear historical value, the vehicle would improve your cred in the ghost-hunting community. “We’ve had people ask us if his spirit is in the trunk,” the seller says. There’s reportedly a hidden weapon compartment in one door. [Review-Journal, KTNV]

🏒 🏀 🏈 Sin City’s Sports Past

As we continue to celebrate the Golden Knights’ championship, cross our fingers for another Aces crown, brace for a new season of Raiders mediocrity, and wonder WTF is up with the A’s, here’s a briskly entertaining timeline of Las Vegas’ sports highlights. [Las Vegas Weekly]

First, Where Was It? ⤴️

Regarding last week’s challenge: “I go to Red Rock (Resort) all the time, and I’ve never seen that,” says a surprised co-worker. But a number of you knew where it is, including Matt Kennedy: “The statue of the girl bent over backwards is in Summerlin at the Station Casinos Corporate offices at 1505 S. Pavilion. If I'm not mistaken, it is a sculpture by the YBA artist Marc Quinn of the ’90s waif model Kate Moss.” Kudos to Matt and these correct answerers:
