What's CITY Talking About?
🏨 Let’s Gentrify!
A developer is proposing a big, honkin’ block of hotel rooms and apartments in the Arts District. More than 80 feet high, it would have 97 hotel rooms and 279 apartments. Though the planning commission staff recommended denial due to surrounding industrial pollution, and because the apartments are a tiny 438 square feet, it’s now before the City Council. Disregards to the Chef!
National publications frequently run best-of roundups heralding the country’s top restaurants and bars; recent examples include the New York Times and Bon Appétit. And the Las Vegas restaurant scene is usually excluded, ignored — snubbed, you might even say. Why? On today’s episode, host Dayvid Figler puts that question to longtime journalist and restaurant marketing expert Eric Gladstone.
Lastly today, not to be outdone by those agencies screwing up roads elsewhere, Henderson plans to “reimagine” 7.5 miles of Boulder Highway. And they want your input, either at an in-person or virtual public meeting.
