🦎🎤 Meet Vegas’ lounge lizard king

October 20, 2023

Good morning, Las Vegas. It’s officially not too soon to worry about running out of candy on Halloween night. So check out this story about the M&M’s rapid-deployment candy-refill squad. That’s right, if you’re running low on Oct. 31, just holler and they’ll dispatch someone to drop off extra treats. I just hope there’s no similar service for Thanksgiving cranberry sauce 😖

What's CITY Talking About?

⚖️ Circumstantial?

A judge has given Duane “Keffe D” Davis — accused of orchestrating the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas — two extra weeks to work out a deal with defense attorney Ross Goodman before entering his plea. While not officially representing Davis, Goodman says he sees gaps in the prosecution: no gun, no car, no witnesses who are still alive. [Las Vegas Sun]

🩺 Strangulation Tests

Strangulation by a domestic abuser is a strong indicator of future violent escalation — but only a few states fund strangulation exams for domestic violence victims. Nevada is one. However, obstacles to full-scale testing remain, including not enough examination sites. [Nevada Current]

💸 Kids Are Expensive in Nevada!

Another list Nevada unfortunately finds itself at the top of: most expensive childcare, with an average of $493 a week. That’s well above the $325 national average. [Help Advisor]
