October 24, 2023

What's CITY Talking About?
✊ Strip Protests Tomorrow
“At 6 p.m., about 75 hospitality workers are expected to be arrested,” the newspaper tells us about the prescheduled bust of union members for “civil disobedience” during a picket action on the Strip tomorrow. Nice of the two sides to work it out in advance! The action and traffic disruption in front of Bellagio is the Culinary Union’s latest nudge to the resort bosses about a new contract. 💸 Taxes Direct to You, IRS!
Nevada is among the states piloting a new IRS program that will let residents file their taxes directly with the agency. Probably not all of us, though. “Eligibility will be limited by the types of income, tax credits, and deductions that the platform can initially support.” Those restrictions aren’t clear yet. 🏬 Former Hsieh Property Sold

No word from the buyer, Boston Omaha Asset Management — which is connected to the real-estate firm selling the property — about what comes next. [Review-Journal]

⌨️ Help With Hackers
UNLV’s Free Cyber Clinic has received more than $3 million in grants that’ll help the clinic offer cybersecurity guidance to small businesses in the wake of this fall’s high-profile online breaches. [Nevada Independent]
