👁️ All eyes on Las Vegas court attack
January 5, 2024
Welcome, reader. If only I had resolved to stop telling you about lame online surveys, I wouldn’t be inflicting another on you now: According to this lame online survey, which was based on polling .0009% of Americans, we Nevadans only stick to our New Year’s resolutions for three months. That’s tied for second worst in the nation.

What's CITY Talking About?
😲 Disorder in the Court
The frightening video of a Las Vegas court defendant bounding over the bench to attack a judge is attracting national attention. Deobra Redden, a repeat offender who, his attorney says, has schizophrenia and bipolar disorders, told judge Mary Kay Holthus he shouldn’t be sent to prison: “I’m in a better place.” It’s when she said he needs “a taste of something different” that Redden leapt. Today on City Cast

The Week That Was
It’s the first news roundup of 2024, and there’s plenty for co-hosts Dayvid Figler and Sarah Lohman, joined by Nevada Current deputy editor April Corbin Girnus, to discuss: Wednesday’s videotaped incident in which a defendant attacked a local judge; the county’s new law against stopping on Strip bridges; and food trends that should go away.
➕ Some jokers made a rapid-response parody video of the courthouse incident. [X]
Have a great weekend. See you Monday with a fresh Where Is It challenge.
