🍍3 places that do pork and pineapple right
January 18, 2024
Hey Las Vegas, a heads up: Volunteers are still needed for the Jan. 25 homeless census. By giving a few hours of your time, you can help officials clarify the state of the unhoused in our valley.

What's CITY Talking About?
✊ Now the Nanny State Is Going Too Far!
The joyless federal highway nabobs are giving states two years to stop putting humorous language on those electronic signs over freeways. Officials say messages should be “simple, direct, brief, legible and clear” — as if a single federal communication has ever met those standards. Oh, well, there goes my idea for “Highway Haiku.” [KVVU]
🪧 Round 2?
With the massive World of Concrete convention and the Super Bowl looming, the Culinary Union boss says we might see picket lines on the Strip and downtown if some 20 remaining properties don’t OK new contracts. Feb. 2 at 5 a.m. is reportedly the deadline. [Nevada Independent]
📄 Hendo Policy Clash
A comprehensive new behavior policy for Henderson City Councilmembers, which limits their public utterances, caused sparks between a couple members of the body. One councilwoman said the policy limited transparency; the mayor disagreed. And in the most Henderson thing ever, parts of the document refer to citizens as “customers.” [KTNV]
🏎️ Oof, They’re Doing It Again

Set your outrage alarms for 10 p.m., Nov. 23, 2024 — according to F1, that’s when the next Las Vegas Grand Prix roars into infamy. [KSNV]
