🚨 Wrestler faces murder charge
March 8, 2024
The wind is back this weekend, but it won’t be nearly as bad as last weekend. Daylight Saving Time returns too. So don’t forget to spring your clocks forward (or just sleep through the night while your digital devices do it all automatically).

What's CITY Talking About?
❄️ Politician Wrestles with Murder Charge
Pro Wrestling. Politics. Crime. These categories overlap more often than they should, and a murder charge against Daniel Rodimer is the latest example. The former pro wrestler and Nevada GOP congressional candidate was at a Halloween suite party at Resorts World and according to the criminal complaint, became angry and attacked Christopher Tapp, who died from his injuries a week later in the hospital. The fight happened in or near a “fun room” with cocaine. For visual reference, Rodimer was dressed up as “Ken” with a fur jacket and no shirt. [KVVU]
🚂 A $400 ticket… to Rancho Cucamonga?
Brightline “will eventually charge more than $400 for a round trip from Las Vegas to Rancho Cucamonga,” according to Wes Edens, founder of the high-speed rail company. They hope to break ground on the 218-mile route this spring and be in operation by the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. If the prototype between Miami and Orlando is any indication, first-class customers will have access to a buffet and self-serve wine and beer taps. [🔒Los Angeles Times]

✈️ Self-service TSA is “great, quick, no hassle.”
The Today show got an up-close look at the self-service TSA line that’s being tested at Harry Reid International Airport. As long as you don’t try to rush, the whole thing seems pretty easy and uncomplicated with digital screens showing you how to send a bag through the system. Remote agents can answer questions on a monitor if needed. The body scan alone is a major improvement without having to raise your hands above your head. [Today]
🛒 Aldi is On the Way
Aldi is coming to the Las Vegas Valley for the first time with a location targeted near Best Buy and the Galleria at Sunset mall in Henderson. I guess you gotta start somewhere. The German grocery store is known for ✨thrift ✨ with an emphasis on exclusive in-house brands, reusable bags, and quarter deposit to use a grocery cart that’s returned when you’re done. [KLAS]
