April 11, 2024

🫵 Will Voters Tell A’s: “Pay For It Yourself”?
The Nevada Supreme Court is weighing the future of a ballot initiative that would shoot down public funding of the A’s stadium on the Tropicana site. Stadium backers are taking issue with the language of a petition by Stadiums Over Schools, which needs 102,000 signatures by June 26 to make the November ballot. [Nevada Current]

🎰 Ellis Island Expands Casino
Ellis Island is expanding its casino floor after moving its signature brewery off site. The project is expected to take at least eight months and give the property a fresh look with rooftop access. As long as Metro Pizza stays, I’m good 🍺😋🍕 [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
💔 Love Dies Here
Or so it seems. Cirque du Soleil says there are no plans to tour The Beatles LOVE after its run ends at the Mirage in July. The unique custom theater is one reason given. Although not yet announced, an internal memo reveals the Mirage will fully close for renovations, possibly by the end of the year, as it transforms into the Hard Rock.
