⭐ Boring Co. Drilling Dump Leads to Permit Questions

Clark County confirms to City Cast Las Vegas that material from the Boring Company’s Vegas Loop underground tunnel project is being dumped in a private lot to “dry out” before being shipped elsewhere. A contractor was given permission to use the site, which neighbors Commercial Center, by a contractor involved in an unrelated storm drain project. County and state environmental officials are involved in a review to determine the need for additional permits and procedures. [City Cast Las Vegas]

📵 Uber Eats Sued Over “Imposter” Restaurants

Four Las Vegas restaurants — Esther’s Kitchen, Gaetano’s, Manizza’s Pizza, and BabyStacks Cafe — have filed a class-action suit against Uber Eats. The plaintiffs claim “imposter” ghost kitchens, which have names similar to established restaurants, are misleading and capitalize off the success of others. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]

🏁 F1 Promises Less-Disruptive Return to Vegas

Barriers, light fixtures, and other construction for November’s F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix won’t begin until September or October, promising a shorter setup time than last year’s chaotic inaugural event. In another change, there won’t be an opening night ceremony and F1 is hoping to engage more with locals in a campaign that began with more accessible general admission prices. [KVVU]
