What's CITY Talking About?
💸 Skimming Theft on the Rise
Watch where you stick that card! Police report a rise in skimming devices, placed by thieves inside or over card-reading devices at gas stations and other businesses. Those using debit or EBT cards are the main targets. Pro tip: use a debit card as a credit card whenever possible 👍 [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
- There’s arguably another scam facing tourists Downtown. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
⛰️ Yucca Back in the Spotlight?
Nuclear waste? Not in our backyard! The Nevada Commission on Nuclear Projects is raising concerns about a recent congressional subcommittee meeting that discussed Yucca Mountain in positive tones for storing nuclear waste 🤢 Then again, it would be expensive, face all sorts of roadblocks from Nevada, and no new legislation regarding the vacant Nye County site has been introduced. Maybe we’ll revisit this idea again after the election 🤔 [Nevada Independent]
☀️ Saving Sunshine
Put down those shovels. A coal power plant in Moapa has been fully transformed into a power storage station that saves excess solar power for later use. Think of it as one big battery that NV Energy promises will help lower bills for customers in the long run. [KTNV]
- Sometimes solar power projects have a downside. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]

Where Is It?

👽 Just like slot machines and neon lights, UFO sightings are synonymous with Nevada culture.

So about that photo … The answer is C.
This alien and its spaceship are on display in the parking lot at the Artistic Iron Works. I’m not sure if they’re really for sale, but hey — offer ‘em a price. They have cool dinosaur sculptures too 🦕
