What's CITY Talking About?
🗳️ Abortion on the Ballot
Nevadans for Reproductive Freedom turned in more than 200,000 signatures to qualify a reproductive rights amendment for the Nevada ballot. It needs to pass with a simple majority in both 2024 and 2026 to change the state constitution. [KSNV]
🏀 Aces Investigation Continues
The Las Vegas Aces face the Phoenix Mercury tonight at the Michelob Ultra Arena as the WNBA investigates the LVCVA’s new sponsorship of the current champs. All 12 players were offered $100,000 (more than the base pay for some) to “just play and keep repping the city of Las Vegas,” opening up questions about salary caps, legalities, and blurred lines between sponsorships and salaries. 🍺 Ellis Island Sues F1
Ellis Island is suing F1 and Clark County over last year’s inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix. Although grandstands were built in front of the casino, Ellis Island owners claim they were misled about traffic and roadwork, leading to a loss of business in the months surrounding the race. [KSNV]
