What's CITY Talking About?
🎸 Nevada Joins Lawsuit Against Ticketmaster
You shouldn’t have to choose between Taylor Swift tickets and a mortgage payment, right? 😠 Nevada’s Attorney General is joining an antitrust lawsuit by the U.S. Department of Justice against Live Nation, which owns Ticketmaster and is accused of monopolizing the concert business. [KVVU]
- Ticket prices far outpace inflation, leaving locals to feel priced out when it comes to Vegas entertainment. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
🗳️ A Quicker Count on Election Day
Nevada is changing how it counts election ballots. The state used to wait until polls closed. Now with mail-in ballots more popular than ever, election officials can begin tallying the results at 8 a.m. on Election Day. Don’t panic. This is just a way to have results announced sooner. 💸 Buy Some Tropicana Leftovers
Need a new bedside table? Or maybe a baby grand piano? A liquidation sale at the now-closed Tropicana picks back up this weekend. Everything is sold “as is” and it’s your responsibility to haul any purchases away the same day. The bellhops are long gone. [KSNV]
- The Tropicana closed in April, leaving behind a 67-year legacy. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
