🎰 Changes coming to Durango

June 28, 2024 · Rob Kachelriess

😎 This is a great time to remind you that Lee Canyon isn’t just for skiing and snowboarding. The Mt. Charleston resort hosts Mountain Fest tomorrow with live music, food, beer, and games like axe throwing 🪓👀 You’ll also enjoy weather that’s a whole lot cooler than the triple digits expected in the valley this weekend.

🎰 Durango is Gettin’ Bigger

Plans are in the works to build a second parking garage at Durango, possibly as tall as seven stories near the south end. The move comes ahead of a planned second phase for the property, which will include an additional hotel tower and new attractions. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]

Free F1 Tickets, Fake Electors, and Block Party B.S.

Did you watch last night’s debate on CNN? We’re in a presidential election cycle, but Nevada is still recovering from the previous one four years ago. Writer Kim Foster joins City Cast Las Vegas co-host Dayvid Figler and producer Layla Muhammad to discuss a court case against fake electors that was recently dismissed — plus a controversy over free F1 tickets and the questionable marketing of the Life is Beautiful block party.

McDonald’s is making a big deal about its $5 value meal 🍔 I’m more excited about the new wave of happy hours and discounts rolled out at Station Casinos properties this summer, especially the $18 bento box at Durango’s Yu Or Mi Sushi, Arazo Hour (reverse happy hour) at Green Valley Ranch’s new Ortikia, and Tequila Tuesdays at Red Rock’s Leoncito 🥂
