👀 The Nevada Dems backing Kamala Harris
July 23, 2024
If you think getting through the average day is tough, imagine Maya Rudolph trying to plan the next four years 🤔

What's CITY Talking About?
🗳️ Nevada Dems Rally Around Kamala Harris
Nevada’s top Democrats, including three congressional representatives, two U.S. senators, and one Attorney General, all expressed support for Kamala Harris in her new White House bid after President Biden dropped his reelection campaign over the weekend — even if they didn’t all specifically use the word “endorse.” [Nevada Current]

🐟 Rare Pupfish to the Rescue
The presence of the endangered Devils Hole Pupfish could save the area near the Ash Meadows Wildlife Refuge from a proposed lithium mine, which locals say would have a disastrous effect on the environment and already-strained water resources. [Inside Climate News]

🍕 Pizza Please, Hold the Child Labor Violations
Ever eat at Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza? Your last slice may have been made with illegal child labor. Federal investigators fined the parent company of the chain’s 10 Las Vegas and Henderson locations, saying teenage workers were given inappropriate hours and tasks, including the operation of pizza dough mixers. 🇫🇷 Hotel Balconies Reappear On the Strip
The newly renovated Versailles Tower at the Paris (annexed from the Horseshoe next door) is now welcoming guests with the option to book one of 38 rooms with balconies overlooking the Strip. The Paris is the first Strip casino-resort to offer balconies since the Cosmopolitan opened in 2010. (You can probably guess why most high-rise hotels in Vegas tend to avoid ‘em.) [SF Gate]
