What's CITY Talking About?

🪢 Trump and Harris Virtually Tied in Nevada

A little more than 2% of Nevada voters remain undecided in the presidential election, according to a new poll. That may not seem like much, but it’s enough to swing the results of a close race in the battleground state. And that’s exactly what we have between Kamala Harris (49%) and Donald Trump (48%). [KLAS]

  • Election integrity is going to be a major topic of discussion in the weeks ahead. Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar talks to City Cast Las Vegas co-host Dayvid Figler about voting security in the state and fallout from a lawsuit over the certification of a recent primary race. 🎰 Circa is Getting Bigger

Circa is adding more rooms, but in a semi-secret kinda way. The resort isn’t constructing another tower, new floors, or anything like that. More than 100 rooms, including four suites are being built on four floors that were shelled out during the original construction and saved for later. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]

💰 Where Does the Money for Schools Go?

Clark County Schools paid more than $60 million to outside consultants over the first six months of the year — a huge increase compared to less than $5 million for the same period in 2017. A lot of those funds are for nonprofit programs and still only add up to 3% of the overall budget. (So where does the rest of the money go? 🤔) [Nevada Independent]

🌴 Busy Holiday for Vegas

You may have noticed: Crowds were up over the holiday weekend. Las Vegas was the sixth-busiest Labor Day destination in the country. Seattle was numero uno. Both Anchorage and Juneau actually made the top 10 since it’s prime time for Alaskan cruises 🚢 [AAA]

So about that photo … The answer is A.

🏜️ The Kohta Circus is a 90-foot-long panel of petroglyphs in Gold Butte National Monument. Seeing it in person requires a long hike on a dusty, rocky trail and even then, you need binoculars or a strong camera lens to view the panel, which sits on an elevated perch. The drawings show bighorn sheep, coyotes, eagles, and other animals.
