September 5, 2024 · Rob Kachelriess
Hello 🍸 Did you miss me?

☝️ If this scene from the movie “Cocktail” makes you feel warm and fuzzy — and in the mood for a drink — we've got a fun story today about the state of flair bartending in Las Vegas 🍹
And my fellow Americans, the state of flair bartending is strong 🇺🇲 Scroll down for more 👇

What's CITY Talking About?

🎨 We’re Getting an Art Museum!
For years, Reno had one thing Vegas didn’t — a major, full-fledged art museum. That’s about to change. The city officially approved land for the Las Vegas Museum of Art in Symphony Park with an award-winning architect already signed up. But you’ll have to wait until 2028. [KTNV]
- That’s around the same time the Brightline train between Vegas and L.A. is supposed to be done. I have a good feeling about which one of these projects we’ll see first 🤔 [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
🚨 Crime Rundown
Just the facts, ma’am 👮
- Police say a woman stole a casket with a body inside from a funeral home. [KLAS]
- That guy who jumped over the bench and attacked a judge is on trial. [KSNV]
- A new ordinance is in the works to help prevent copper wire theft after Good Pie became the latest victim in the Arts District. [KSNV]
- Fontainebleau hotel guest arrested. The reason? Flamethrower. [KLAS]
If the HOA cannot or will not fix this problem, we will.
🏡 And You Thought Your HOA Was Bad
The City of Henderson is stepping in to make essential pipe repairs to the Somerset Park community. That means 85 townhomes won’t have to evacuate 😃 But homeowners will be on the hook for the cost, estimated to be payments of $300 a month over two years 😞 [KVVU]
🐷 The Best BBQ in Las Vegas
Did you hop behind the grill over the holiday weekend? Sometimes it’s best to leave that kind of stuff to a professional, especially since the art of smoking slow and low requires a delicate touch. Christie Vanover of Girls Can Grill talks to City Cast Las Vegas co-host Sarah Lohman about the BBQ boom and shares some recommendations. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
