🐘 Trump Talks Taxes in Vegas
Donald Trump is safe after shots were fired outside his Florida golf course Sunday. A suspect was arrested in what the secret service describes as a failed assassination attempt. No one was injured.
- The incident came two days after Trump made a Las Vegas appearance at World Market Center. I was hoping he’d reveal a showroom with an all-new Make Ottomans Great Again furniture line, but the former president held a rally instead, pushing no taxes on tips, overtime, or social security. Nothing about migrants eating pets. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
- The Culinary union has thoughts on taxing tips. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
🌳 F1 Removing Bellagio Trees Again
Take the rage bait and enjoy it. Today, Formula One begins the removal of trees in front of the Bellagio fountains as part of the Las Vegas Grand Prix track construction. The same thing happened last year, but now the trees are in planters that can be more easily moved. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
🏜️ What Happens in Clovis Stays in Clovis
New evidence suggests humans were in the area we now know as Las Vegas far earlier than previously thought. Fossils and artifacts unearthed from the Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary and cataloged at the Las Vegas Heritage Museum indicate people were around during the Clovis period 12,000 years ago. [KLAS]

👀 The lion statue is outside the south Stripside entrance to the Fontainebleau, where KYU welcomes guests for wood-fired meats and vegetables. Lion statues are known as guardians in Asian culture and this one appears to be modeled after a counterpart at the Chinese Museum in the Cour de la Fontaine at the Château de Fontainebleau, France.
