What's CITY Talking About?

👎 (Expletive) These Guys
Watching Green Day at last year’s When We Were Young Festival was one of the best shows I ever saw and a true communal experience, so it stings a little that lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong shouted “I (expletive) hate Las Vegas. It’s the worst (expletive) hole in America” during a Bay Area show. To be fair, he was ranting about the A’s, which is enough to make anyone mad. [The Mercury News]
- Wait, there’s more. Neon City Festival headliner Macklemore shouted “(Expletive) America” during a Seattle show. Think that will fly when he comes to Vegas in November? 🤔 [Billboard]
😐 Vegas Loop, Now with Cybertrucks
Tesla Cybertrucks will be zipping through Elon Musk’s Vegas Loop underground tunnel once it connects to the airport. Lotsa room for luggage in there 🧳 [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
🎞️ Hollywood Handouts
Sony is gearing up to build a movie studio in Summerlin — once it receives some tantalizing, tasty tax credits 😋 City Cast Las Vegas co-host Sarah Lohman welcomes Nevada Current editor April Corbin Girnus to discuss the possibility of “Made in Nevada” showing up in the credits of your favorite movies and TV shows. The discussion was led by Samantha Gemini Stevens (Neon Feast) and also included Molly Castano (Visit Las Vegas/LVCVA), Ashley Farkas (MGM Resorts), Katie Conway (Orion PR), and Melinda Sheckells (The Town/Billboard/The Hollywood Reporter).
🥂 Cheers to a great event!
