👠 Vegas strippers sue star athlete
October 11, 2024 · Rob Kachelriess
😎 Get ready for a great weekend!
You can even do a “festival crawl” on Saturday 👀
Begin at the Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival at Sunset Park (10 a.m. - 10 p.m.), head over to the Aki Matsuri Japanese Festival on Water Street (11 a.m. - 9 p.m.), go Downtown for the USA Today Wine & Food Experience, featuring an emphasis on Portuguese wines (1 - 4 p.m.), and visit the Las Vegas Pride Festival (12 - 11 p.m.) before wrapping the day with live music at Best Friends Forever (1 - 11:30 p.m.).
Those last three are even within walking distance of each other. And you can use a few extra steps to burn off all that food and drink you’ll enjoy 😀
Congrats to our City Cast Las Vegas members who won tickets to Best Friends Forever. Members also get a preview of the week’s events (like the ones above) in their inbox at the beginning of every week.

What's CITY Talking About?

🛬 Kamala Harris Courts Latino Voters
Kamala Harris arrived in Las Vegas to meet Latino voters and talk immigration during a Univision town hall last night — and as far we can tell, Air Force Two had a smooth landing at Harry Reid International Airport. [Bloomberg]
- The same can’t be said for a recent Frontier Airlines flight, affected by smoke and flames while making a hard landing on the runway in Vegas. Everyone on board was safe, but the incident raises further questions about air travel and safety. City Cast Las Vegas co-hosts Sarah Lohman and Dayvid Figler welcome Andrew Kiraly of The List for the Friday news roundup to talk about the emergency as well as the Chippendales vote to unionize and a Coldplay video that found its way into the hearts of Las Vegans 🎈 [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
⚖️ No Laughing Matter
One of two teens charged with killing a bicyclist — and recording it on video while laughing about it — was found unfit for trial and is being moved from prison to a psychiatric facility for further evaluation. [KVVU]
🛌 Where the Bed Bugs Bite?
A Missouri tourist claims to be the victim of “permanent scarring” after she was bit by bed bugs during a 2022 stay at The Strat 😳 At least it wasn’t a scorpion. [KLAS]
👠 Strippers No Longer in Mayweather’s Girl Collection
Two exotic dancers are suing Floyd Mayweather and the boxer’s strip club, assuming a business named Girl Collection would be a place that respects women. The allegations: tips unfairly withheld, worker misclassification, and getting smacked by Mayweather himself. [KSNV]
🙏 Help the Helpers
We usually stick with Vegas news in this newsletter, but it’s hard not to think about those affected by Hurricanes Milton and Helene. If you want to help, but don’t know where to begin, here’s a list of vetted resources and charities that are working hard to help everyone affected right now, from newborns to animals and more. No donation is too small. [NBC News]
