Need something to do this weekend? 👀
We enthusiastically recommend the Las Vegas Book Festival, free and open to all ages at the Historic Fifth Street School on Saturday 📚 City Cast Las Vegas will be in the house too 🤗 Sarah Lohman takes part in a discussion on publishing and Dayvid Figler joins a panel on Vegas clichés that can be avoided in the literary world.
Come by and check it out 😀

What's CITY Talking About?
🚁 Helicopter Chase Ends in Gunfire
A Metro officer shot a man suspected of stealing a car, running a red light, and trying to outpace a police helicopter before bailing out for a chase in an apartment complex near Trop and Nellis. The guy survived, and should have some good stories to tell (in jail). [KSNV]
⚾ Baseball Stadium + Hotel = Huh?
We’re getting more of an idea on what the A’s planned baseball stadium complex will look like. The former Tropicana lot will include two Bally’s hotel towers, a casino, pools, and more, built over three phases. To humor us, they even included a parking garage — for 2,500 spaces. Enjoy fighting over those 👍 I’m assuming the cylinder-shaped marquee on the corner is a placeholder for something normal. [KVVU]
🗳️ Vote This Weekend
Mail-in voting is already underway and in-person early voting begins tomorrow. Security has increased at polling stations for the benefit of voters and workers alike. Behave yourselves. [KTNV]

🥵 Is Hotumn Over?
The weather has been surprisingly hot this season, but we’re starting to see some relief — if you can survive today’s wind advisory 🌬️ City Cast Las Vegas co-hosts Dayvid Figler and Sarah Lohman welcome KTNV Channel 13 reporter Jaewon Jung to talk about the unexpected weather during the Friday news roundup, plus reaction to Robert Telles sentencing and the latest on a Vegas Trump supporter who says he was unfairly labeled an attempted assassin.
