What's CITY Talking About?
👮 Las Vegas Police Blotter
While you were enjoying the weekend, this is what police were dealing with:
- A couple is facing charges of stealing $300,000 worth of items, including video equipment in the days leading up to the Super Bowl in Vegas. Singer Jason Derulo is one of the victims. [Casino.org]
- A man tried to flee Las Vegas after a deadly hit-and-run crash. He was caught in Dubai. [KTNV]
- Two very young looking suspects are wanted for “using force” in what appears to be a convenience store robbery. [KVVU]
- A woman was told her husband was killed in a crash. He wasn’t. Coroner made a mistake 😳 [KLAS]
😵💫 Gunfire Over Trump Sign
A couple in a Tesla pulled over in front of Donald Trump yard sign (at least twice) cranking a song called “[Expletive] Donald Trump”. Three men came out of the house, there was a fight, and seven bullets fired at Tesla as it sped off.
- Trump returns to Las Vegas Thursday, headlining a rally inside the Thomas & Mack on Thursday. Barack Obama was in Vegas over the weekend, stumping for Kamala Harris. Bill Clinton will do the same tomorrow. [KVVU]
🖐️ Hold Up, There’s a Mayor’s Race Too
The presidential race is dominating the headlines, but Las Vegas is choosing a new mayor too. City Cast Las Vegas has been there from the beginning, covering the candidates as part of our Mayoral Mondays series. Now we’re down to two.
City Cast Las Vegas co-host Dayvid Figler spoke to both Shelley Berkley and Victoria Seaman about an issue that resonates with voters: the problem of homelessness.
The episode with Victoria Seaman runs tomorrow. The episode with Shelley Berkley is available now. We encourage you to listen to both. It’s our effort to give both candidates an equal opportunity to go beyond the stump speeches and talking points.

You can also scroll down further for a comparison of where the candidates stand on other issues 👇
