🍂 Your guide to November in Las Vegas
November 1, 2024 · Rob Kachelriess
😁 Hope you had a great Halloween — the only day of the year I don’t panic when I see children in front of my house.
If you were trick-or-treating near the Strip, you probably saw this …

Kamala Harris raised more than a billion dollars as a presidential candidate. So what’s the best way to blow through some of that campaign cash in Vegas?
A. Bet it all on red.
B. Buy ads on the Sphere.
The Harris team went with B, earning nationwide attention. City Cast Las Vegas executive producer Layla Muhammad joined co-hosts Dayvid Figler and Sarah Lohman to discuss if the ads are effective, the governor activating the National Guard for the election, and why so many Nevadans lack healthcare (a topic that probably deserves more attention by the candidates). It’s all part of the Friday news roundup.

What's CITY Talking About?

🇺🇲 One Day, Two Rallies
It would be fun to say Donald Trump and Kamala Harris were in town at the same time — on Halloween no less — but they really weren’t. Trump pumped up his supporters at Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson in the afternoon, while Harris held an evening outdoor rally at Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas. 🤔 Could Puerto Rican Voters Sway the Election?
Jennifer Lopez appeared at Harris’ event ✅ Meanwhile, Nicky Jam withdrew his endorsement of Donald Trump (who incorrectly referred to the reggaeton star as “she” during a Vegas appearance last month) following the former president’s highly scrutinized MSG rally ❎ [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
🗳️ Last Call on Early Voting
Today is the final day of early voting. Otherwise, your last chance to vote is by mail or in person on Election Day, Nov. 5. [Nevada Secretary of State]
- You should’ve received a ballot in the mail by now. If not, contact the Clark County Elections Department (702-455-8683). Replacements can be picked up in person or delivered by Fed-Ex. [KVVU]
- So far, roughly 6,000 ballots have been rejected due to missing or mismatched signatures. Let the curing begin! [KLAS]

🚂 Train Reaction
A train hit a truck, which flew into other cars and a homeless camp near Decatur and Sunset. One person was injured, complaining of “neck pain.” I wonder if it’s possible to find a lawyer in this town 🤔 [KVVU]
🤑 Moving Goal Posts in a Baseball Stadium
A’s owner John Fisher is committing $1 billion of family money to the construction of the team’s stadium on the Strip. Add in a $300 million loan and up to $380 million in public funding and it sounds pretty good, right? Not so fast. The A’s now say the project will cost more than the original $1.5 billion estimate. Maybe we can pass a hat around? [KTNV]
