🫣 What a Trump presidency means for Nevada

November 7, 2024 · Rob Kachelriess

🖐️ Attention voters …

More than 13,000 mail ballots have signature issues in need of curing. As it turns out, mine was one of them — even after using my “good” signature that I use for important stuff.

Here’s the funny part: I wasn’t contacted by the county. I was notified via text by some political caucus who got their hands on a list. When I called the county election office, the curing process was quick and easy, but they said my phone number wasn’t on file.

So … even if you think everything is cool, update your voter registration contact information.

If you need to cure your ballot — or aren’t sure — call 702-455-6552.

The presidency is already settled, but as you’ll see below, your vote could still make a difference in other races.

🗳️ Americans Vote Bull Back into China Shop

Donald Trump made history as only the second U.S. president to serve two non-consecutive terms and the first to publicly hate Taylor Swift. So what does that mean for us? In his own words, this is what Trump has promised to do “on day one” that can or might affect Nevada. [Yahoo/ABC News]

  • Pardon “many” of those convicted of storming the Capitol. At least four of ‘em are from Las Vegas.
  • End the “Green New Deal,” which was never a law. Trump is generally referring to Biden policies like the Inflation Reduction Act, which includes rebates, jobs, and technology in support of clean energy in Nevada.
  • Launch the “largest deportation program in American history.” There are about 145,000 immigrants in Nevada without documentation.
  • Give green cards to college graduates. (That one surprised you, didn’t it?)

  • It looks like more than half the Clark County School Board will be replaced, including the current president. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
