What's CITY Talking About?

🚨 Police Shoot Wrong Person

Police responded to a break-in, then shot and killed a person who — guess what — turned out to be the victim who reported the intruder in the first place. As you can imagine, the family wants answers. [KSNV]

🐶 Puppies Survive Dumpster

Eight puppies are recovering at the Animal Foundation after the latest nominee for “worst person ever” tossed them into a dumpster inside a trash bag. The next step — finding fosters 🙏 [KLAS]

🪧 Pressure’s On

Hundreds of workers spent the weekend on strike outside Virgin Hotels, just days ahead of the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. The big demand? The same benefits other workers get at most big hotels. [Associated Press]

🇺🇲 Deportation Nation

The countdown continues to the Trump Era Part II and the promise of mass deportations. So far, Gov. Lombardo is mum on if the National Guard would be used to carry out those plans in Nevada. [Nevada Current]

🛣️ Highway Jobbery

Forget everything you know — or think you know — about Boulder Highway. The historic road played a major role in the early development of Las Vegas and is now undergoing a major renovation.

That’s right. More traffic construction 🚧 But it’s not always a bad thing.

City Cast Las Vegas co-host Sarah Lohman talks to urban planner Ray Delahanty about how Boulder Highway got off track and Henderson’s plans to turn things around. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]

We also discuss how Boulder Highway helped shape Sunrise Manor. Scroll down for more 👇

Where Is It?

Alien invasion? (Rob Kachelriess/City Cast Las Vegas)

Last week, Congress held more hearings on the possible existence of UFOs and intelligent life beyond our planet. (It’s hard enough finding intelligent life on this planet.)

Maybe these two guys arrived just in time to declare their presence to Earthlings? But why are they in Nevada? And who gave them construction vests?

It’s a fascinating scene. Where is it?

A. Outside the Little A'Le'Inn near AREA 51.

B. The parking lot of AREA15.

C. The parking lot of the Clark County Shooting Complex.

D. The entrance to the parking garage at Henderson City Hall.

Scroll down for the correct answer!

So about that photo … The answer is C.

👽 The aliens were hanging out at the Clark County Shooting Complex, north of the valley on the outskirts of town.

Why? I don’t know. The truth is out there.
