🚄 High-speed rail prices revealed
January 22, 2025 · Rob Kachelriess
👊 The biggest event at Allegiant Stadium this year has nothing to do with the Raiders. (More on that below.) It’s Wrestlemania 41, which aims to set a record for smashed steel chairs April 19-20.
Single-day tickets go on sale Friday and if that wasn’t enough, World Wrestling Entertainment just announced WWE World, a fan festival at the Convention Center April 17-21 with tickets available Feb. 3.

What's CITY Talking About?

💸 The Inside Track on Train Tickets
Brightline West projects a one-way, standard-class ticket on its high-speed rail line between Las Vegas and Rancho Cucamonga to be $119 in 2031 — the first stabilized year of service following a two-year ramp-up period. (Whatever that means.) An upgraded premium cabin ticket will be $133. The figures were revealed in paperwork for a $2.5 billion bond offering to help pay for this thing. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
🎪 Circus Circus for Sale
When not hanging out at presidential inaugurations, casino mogul Phil Ruffin is actively trying to sell Circus Circus, claiming the resort and its 102 acres of land are worth $5 billion. For reference, he bought it for less than a quarter of that in 2019. [Forbes]
- Locals seem to share the same thought: Keep the theme, but give the property a dramatic renovation. [KTNV]
- No matter what, we still love the history and charm of Circus Circus. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
💔 Where Is the Love?
Less than a month before launching a new Planet Hollywood residency, the Black Eyed Peas cancelled all 15 dates. The reason? “Current circumstances,” which appear to be “abysmal” ticket sales. [Vital Vegas]
🏈 Reevaluation Nation
The Raiders’ top choice for head coach — Ben Johnson of the Detroit Lions — chose the Bears instead, leaving former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken as the top candidates for the job. [Sporting News]
- It’s clearly a rebuilding year and we gotta ask, “Are the Raiders OK?” City Cast Las Vegas co-host Dayvid Figler talks with Heidi Fang, producer of the Las Vegas Review Journal’s Vegas Nation podcast, to discuss the team’s rough period, Tom Brady’s role as co-owner, and all the quarterback drama you can handle.
