🌮 Tomorrow is National Fish Taco Day. Happy munchin’ to all who observe 🎉

Rubio’s, of all places, claims to be the first fish taco restaurant in the United States. Not sure I buy that. As long as humans have known how to make tortillas, there’s been somebody ready to shove a piece of fish inside of one.

☀️ Solar Farm to Shut Off the Lights?

The days could be numbered for the Ivanpah Solar Power Plant — also known as “what’s that thing?” to drivers on Interstate 15 near the California state line. Two units are shutting down as business with a California utility fizzles out. [KSNV]

🏀 Anger and Lawsuits Connected to Stalled Arena

The public face behind the failed All Net Arena & Resort — never built on the still-empty lot between the Sahara and Fontainebleau — faces more than $30 million in lawsuits and accusations of mismanaging funds from investors. Jackie Robinson, a former UNLV basketball player who found success in the NBA, has companies that face at least $17 million in civil court judgments. [Los Angeles Times]

🚽 Somebody’s Watching Pee

🍎 School Daze

Principals say they’ve received little guidance from the Clark County School District on how to address the evolving immigration laws signed into law by President Trump (who happens to be in Vegas tomorrow for a rally at Circa). [Las Vegas Sun/Las Vegas Review-Journal]

  • It’s a hot-button topic that inspired a spirited discussion in the latest Friday news roundup. City Cast Las Vegas co-hosts Sarah Lohman and Dayvid Figler welcome Michael MJ Lyle of the Nevada Current to talk about Metro’s views on immigration enforcement, the ending of the Virgin Hotels strike, and some intriguing drama among Henderson City Council members.
