🧐 You may have noticed …

Yesterday’s Hey Las Vegas newsletter was sent out about an hour later than usual due to a technical glitch. Apologies to all of you early risers. Hopefully, everything is back to normal today 🤞
This is a good time to remind Gmail users — if you haven’t done so already — to drag the email for the latest newsletter into your primary folder. That’ll keep future editions from showing up in spam 👍

What's CITY Talking About?
🐣 The Nevada Legislature’s Egg-Cellent Adventure
Everyone’s hung up on eggs all of a sudden. Do you really miss omelettes that much? At least the Nevada legislature hears you. In the wake of price spikes driven by bird flu, state lawmakers are moving a bill forward that would reverse a law requiring eggs to be sold from cage-free hens. [KRNV]
- This is just one of the issues facing the representatives in the new session. City Cast Las Vegas co–host Dayvid Figler talks to Nevada Current deputy editor April Corbin Girnus about the biggest legislative showdowns taking shape in Carson City. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]

⏳ Brightline Timeline
NDOT says construction on Brightline’s high-speed rail between Vegas and Southern California should begin in two months — a mere year after the “official groundbreaking.” The only roadblock — proof that $12 billion in funding is in place. [KLAS]
🛣️ Two Dogs, One Highway
The search is on for the owner of a German Shepherd after the dog was rescued from traffic on Interstate 215 near the Valley View exit. A second German Shepherd was reported near the Gibson exit later in the day, but wasn’t found. I’m guessing these doggies know each other. [KVVU]
🧳 Awkward Airbnb Encoutner
Airbnb is giving a full refund to a Texas couple who booked accommodations in Vegas and woke up to discover another customer trying to check into the same property. (Resort fees don’t sound so bad now, do they?) [KSNV]
- Clark County already had ongoing issues with short-term rentals. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
