👋 Hi …
We’re back after a long holiday weekend — and you still have time to score some cool stuff from the Las Vegas-Clark County Library district. Enter online for “February is Library Lovers’ Month” with your library card for the chance to win Vegas Golden Knights tickets and other prizes 😀

What's CITY Talking About?

🧳 Old Motels: An Answer to Homelessness?
A Clark County ordinance passed last year is now in effect, making it illegal to camp on public sidewalks. Arrests are discretionary and considered a last resort by law enforcement officers. [KSNV]
- Las Vegas is full of old, abandoned hotels that could be used for shelters or affordable housing instead of collecting dust. City Cast Las Vegas co-host Dayvid Figler talks to Shalimar Cabrera of U.S.VETS about how the Safari Motel was repurposed as a resource for those without housing — and the challenges that still remain. 🚨 Rosen Wants Limitations on ICE Raids
Nevada Sen. Jacky Rosen (D) co-introduced a bill in Washington to protect churches, schools, and hospitals from immigration raids. The legislation, which has little chance of passing in the GOP-led Congress, is a response to the Trump administration’s promise of mass deportations. [KSNV]
- Sen. Rosen told City Cast Las Vegas that undocumented workers who break the law should be deported, and is trying to find common ground with Republicans on the issue. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
👮 What’s Going On in Henderson?
Henderson Police Chief Hollie Chadwick was put on a three-week administrative leave with the option to take a buyout or be fired, according to insiders. The reason has yet to be announced, but the department has seen its share of scandals in recent years. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
🏈 Super Bowl Comeback
The Super Bowl could return to Allegiant Stadium as soon as 2029. NFL insiders say Las Vegas and Los Angeles are considered Tier 1 cities that should get to host the championship game as often as possible. [NBC Sports]
