February 26, 2025 · — Adrian González

Good morning! It’s City Cast editor Adrian González filling in for Rob Kachelries so he can take some time off for his birthday. I myself had a birthday last week and mostly spent it watching movies — my favorite pastime.

In honor of the Oscars this weekend, we’re bringing back a conversation between City Cast Las Vegas podcast co-host Dayvid Figler and writer and professor Greg Crosby about the best (and worst 👀) representations of Las Vegas on film, including some “Showgirls” hot takes.

And grab some extra popcorn, because we also have a list below of the City Cast Las Vegas team’s favorite Vegas-centric movies. Here’s a photographic hint of my pick.

⏰ No More Springing Forward?

The Nevada Assembly's Government Affairs committee is considering a bill that would end Daylight Saving Time and keep the state in permanent standard time. If approved and signed into law, the “Lock the Clock Act” would kick in after November. [KRNV]
