I recently raved about a new bar in the Arts District, telling my City Cast co-workers that cocktails were “only” $17. They looked at me like I was nuts.

🎭 As Hendertucky Turns (New Season)
Henderson City Council member Monica Larson is accused of harassing her Inspirada neighbors, unfairly booting members from an online Neighborhood Watch group, and driving around with a yellow light on her car, “acting as an unofficial roving security guard.” [KLAS]
- A former volunteer with the Henderson Police Department, who logged more than 4,000 hours over nearly five years, says she was dismissed after discussing the ouster of the police chief at a City Council meeting. [KTNV]

☀️ The Heat Remains Dangerous
Las Vegas has seen at least 29 heat-related deaths this year. Some involve drugs. (Not a good mix.) [KVVU]

🍕 Congrats to two Las Vegas restaurants named among the Top 50 Pizzerias in the U.S. — Pizza Rock (#33) and Double Zero (#43).
Unlike a lot of these lists, this one was serious business with an anonymous team of Italian experts visiting each spot in person, almost like Michelin inspectors 🧐
We also want to shout out Truly Pizza (#9) in Dana Point, which is run by some of the best Vegas pizza veterans 👍 I can vouch — all three pizzerias are great.
