Sen. Rosen: “You Get Screwed” in Trump’s Bill

The Big Beautiful Bill is … well, big. The Congressional Budget Office says the legislation will add $3.4 trillion to the national debt and increase the number of Americans without health insurance by 10 million. [NBC News]

  • Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) speaks candidly with City Cast Las Vegas on how the spending cuts affect Las Vegans, the “cruelty” of her Republican colleagues, and her description of President Trump in five words or less. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
It's bad. And it's going to get worse, sadly, before it gets better … Figure out how you can help. The smallest of actions make a difference for someone somewhere. And if you help one person, it's everything to them.

📊 Gov. Lombardo’s Popularity Holds Steady

Is Nevada a red state now? Well, maybe it’s pink 🤔 In a poll of 800 likely voters, Gov. Joe Lombardo earned an approval rating of 51 percent, while 38 percent disapproved. The results give the Republican a modest edge heading into next year’s election. [Nevada Independent]

🐝 Beware Killer Bees in Henderson

An 86-year-old man (who on a side note, looks well under his age) was hospitalized when attacked by a swarm of Africanized bees (or “killer bees”) when walking his dogs near a vacant home in Sun City Anthem. One of the dogs was also stung and didn’t survive. [KVVU]

🤑 Millions Won in ‘Storm Area 51’ Suit

Hard to believe, but it’s been six years since a meme led to a “Storm Area 51” festival that (mostly) fizzled out near the military base outside Vegas. As it turned out, the owner of the Little A’Le’Inn won nearly $3.5 million after taking legal action against the promoters and organizers who pulled out — a spicy tidbit revealed in a new Netflix documentary. 🎸 Parting shot …

A world without Ozzy Osbourne in it doesn’t feel right. The Black Sabbath singer passed away yesterday following years of struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.

🤘 Pull up some Ozzy on Spotify — I recommend the live “Tribute” album with Randy Rhodes — and make a donation to Parkinson’s Place, Friends of Parkinson’s, or another organization of your choice that supports those with the condition in Southern Nevada.
