🚣 Does a River Deserve Human Rights?
Indigenous tribes have lived along and near the Colorado River for thousands of years, but have little say on how it’s managed. The Colorado River Indian Tribes coalition now wants a law to give the river the same rights and protections a human would hold in court. Ideally, it would lead to a system where businesses lease the water, setting up a fund for environmental restoration. [KNPR]

The report highlights the disparity between what CEOs and their employees are paid. Caesars Entertainment's CEO made $18.4 million last year (or $419 for every dollar the median worker earned). MGM Resorts’ CEO earned $15.8 million, a ratio of 332 to 1. [Nevada Current]
