City Cast Las Vegas
🤨 A YouTuber's questionable sky jump
October 1, 2025 · — Rob Kachelriess
🏀 Hey! Did you watch last night’s game?
The Las Vegas Aces are going to the WNBA finals 🥳
It’s moments like this when Las Vegans can cheer and celebrate together, even when faced with the anger and frustration of a midnight federal government shutdown.
In a complex news cycle, City Cast Las Vegas believes in fostering a local connection, which is becoming more important by the day in this growing community.
As our fall membership campaign winds down, help us cross the finish line and meet our goals 🍂
You’ll get a tote bag 🥳 and an invitation to our next members-only event, which we’re announcing tomorrow 👀

What's CITY Talking About?
🕊️ Remembering Lives Lost
Today marks eight years since the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history took place at an outdoor country music festival on the Strip. Las Vegas is remembering the 60 victims killed with an exhibit at the Clark County Government Center, a memorial ceremony at the Las Vegas Community Healing Garden, and other events. 🗳️ Nevada Has New Voting Machines
Nevada voters will use a new in-person voting system in 2026 that prints a physical paper ballot instead of casting one electronically. This makes it harder to challenge the results, but I’m sure somebody will try anyway. [KTNV]
📹 IShowSpeed vs. The Strat
Livestreamer IShowSpeed was on a 35-day cross-country tour as 45 million followers watched fascinating stuff like his crew ordering food and miles of highway pavement zipping by during road trips 😐 Things got interesting in Vegas with a SkyJump off The Strat tower, but the resort said the YouTuber was stretching the truth “for clicks” after he claimed to have “almost died” due to a supposedly faulty safety harness. 🎸 Wild Price Swings for Paul McCartney
Paul McCartney plays Allegiant Stadium this weekend and prices are significantly lower than other dates on the tour. We checked out StubHub and found partially obstructed seats for as low as $29 with fees included 🤯 But the options are wildly inconsistent. In Section 319, for example, ninth row was $39, but first row was $969. (All subject to change.) I get it. He’s no Bad Bunny. But it's hard to turn down a deal to see a Beatle live while you still can. [USA Today]

Critter Corner

This is Polly. To be honest, she writes most of the newsletter while I take long lunches.
(All those stories about resort fees and traffic — that’s her. She hates that stuff.)
City Cast has a policy against employing canines (weird, right?), so Polly doesn’t get paid for her work. But if you commit to becoming a City Cast Las Vegas Neighbor, it’ll help keep our operation afloat, and I’ll pass along a few extra treats to Polly.
We call it trickle-down doggie-nomics 🦴
Polly thanks you! 🐶
