City Cast Las Vegas

🤨 Why Las Vegas has a weird flag

😉 Did you miss us?

Forgot to mention it on Friday, but we took Monday off for the holiday.

However, we stayed busy with an amazing City Cast Las Vegas Neighbors event last night at Pinches Tacos! 🌮

Thanks to all the members who joined us for food, drinks, and a game of lotería. It was great hanging out with you all — and we’re already discussing ideas for our next City Cast Las Vegas Neighbors event 👀

What's CITY Talking About

Las Vegas Aces celebrate with trophy.

‼️ 🏀 Boom 🏀 ‼️

Congratulations to the Aces, who threw down a 4-0 shutdown to win their third championship in four years. (We call this the "reverse A's." ) An official celebration begins at 3 p.m. Friday outside the T-Mobile Arena with a parade on the Strip at 5 p.m. [KLAS]

🏜️ Mysterious Legislative Session Awaits

Gov. Lombardo is calling Nevada lawmakers back to Carson City after a lackluster session earlier this year that could be generously described as “not productive.” So what’s left on the table? City Cast Las Vegas sets the dial to “informed speculation” for our latest episode to see what legislators can accomplish before the end of the year. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]

🎰 Remembering Rossi Ralenkotter

Condolences to friends and family of Rossi Ralenkotter, who died of cancer at 78. He was the president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority from 2004 to 2018. While his reign ended with a resignation over a gift card scandal, Ralenkotter oversaw a historic period of growth for Las Vegas tourism, which included:

  • A resort construction and visitors boom
  • A successful transition away from the family-friendly focus of the ‘90s
  • The “What Happens Here, Stays Here” marketing campaign
  • Events like the National Finals Rodeo and Consumer Electronics Show
  • And yes, the emergence of paid parking on the Strip. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]

🚘 Tesla Shuttles Escape From Underground Tunnels

The Nevada Transportation Authority approved a plan for the Vegas Loop to use more than 100 Tesla vehicles as low-cost, above-ground shuttles to and from the airport. The catch — the other destination must be a Vegas Loop station, either planned or currently active. [Nevada Current]

🌎 Next Sphere Headliner in No Doubt

The Sphere just revealed its latest superpower — getting ‘90s pop bands to reunite. (Pay attention, Justin Timberlake.) No Doubt is back in action for a 2026 residency at the high-tech dome. [USA Today]

  • Another hot ticket: Banana Ball returns to the Las Vegas Ballpark in Downtown Summerlin in 2026. Think of it as the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball, but with a way more fervent following. The spring games involve the Party Animals and the Loco Beach Coconuts — not the Savannah Bananas, who pioneered the concept and launched the now-expanding Banana Ball league. [KSNV]

Where Is It?

⛏️ (Sydney Martinez/Travel Nevada)

Nevada is known for its rich mining history. No, not lithium (although there’s plenty of opportunity for that too), but old-school loot like gold and silver 💰

With that in mind, this photo is quintessentially Nevada. The only question:

Where is it?

A. Henderson

B. Boulder City

C. Beatty

D. Sunrise Manor
