📜 Spesh Sesh Agenda Drops
After weeks of rumors and waiting, state lawmakers finally have confirmation: Yesterday evening, the governor's office released an agenda for a special session starting ... at 10 a.m. today. Better late than never? (Not according to some.) Included on the list: A crime bill, a film tax credit bill, and a healthcare provider recruitment bill. [Tabitha Mueller via X, Reno Gazette Journal]
🚰 Colorado River Talks Dry Up
Nevada and six other western states failed to meet a federal deadline for a water use agreement this week. The current arrangement promises more water than the river is producing, setting up disagreement on who gets water downstream. Some experts fear prolonged negotiations will lead to politically based decisions on water resources. [KLAS]
🧑💻 The IT Job in Las Vegas

Comparatively, the hospitality sector employs more than 15 times the number of people than IT but has struggled to keep up amid sluggish tourism numbers. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]

🪧 Rio Hotel Braces for Union Strike
Members of the Teamster Local 986 union overwhelmingly voted to authorize a strike after two years of stalled negotiations with property owner Dreamscape Companies, citing unfair labor practices and accusing the company of lining its own pockets at the cost of union workers. No word on when a strike might actually happen, but a reminder that F1 is in town next week. [KSNV]
