🧑‍⚖️ Fake Electors Face the Music

The Nevada Supreme Court ruled yesterday that forgery charges against six “fake electors” who tried to overturn the 2020 election for President Donald Trump can proceed in Clark County — six of the seven justices voted in favor, one recused herself because she’s neighbors with one of the defendants. Prominent Nevada Republicans face state felony charges for fraudulent election documents, unaffected by Trump’s pardon earlier this week. [Nevada Independent]

🚧 Musk Company Violations Had Tunnel Vision

Just one day after Nevada’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration hit the Boring Company with more than $400,000 in fines for workplace violations this spring, a number of state officials stepped in and abruptly withdrew them. But that’s not the only thing that vanished. Records of the Governor’s office meeting with the Boring Co. were seemingly deleted from public record and some documents were not properly saved. ⏰ Division on School Start Times

A recent Clark County School District survey about moving start times 30 minutes later showed positive views on health and academic advantages, but mixed feelings about actually implementing the proposal. Out of the 98,700 participants — including parents, staff, and students — more than two-thirds believed more sleep would help students, but less than half supported the shift, mostly due to family schedules and child care needs. 🎬 Nevada Film Tax Narrowly Makes the Cut

The award for best drama at the state legislature’s special session yesterday goes to the expansion of Nevada’s film tax incentives, which was one vote away from dying just as it was introduced.

Assm. Selena La Rue Hatch used a rare objection to the bill’s introduction, but it eventually advanced with a 21-21 vote. The bill will now move to a committee hearing. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
