🤷 A Hyperloop to Reno?

Can we get through another day without talking about the Vegas Loop? Nope! Although development of the underground Tesla tunnels is going slower than expected, Elon Musk’s Boring Company is dreaming big, anticipating lines to Henderson and Summerlin — and even proposing one-mile demonstration tunnels to build buzz. The company is also discussing a high-speed hyperloop between Vegas and Reno down the line, featuring technology the company has already tested and dropped. Fits and starts, I suppose. • UNLV turned down a free Vegas Loop station on campus, saying it’s not safe for students to rush this stuff. [Las Vegas Weekly]
• At best, the Vegas Loop won’t have its Strip and Downtown stations ready until at least 2028. That’s a big year! 💡 NV Energy Flips the Switch on Refunds

NV Energy says it feels bad about overcharging customers by $65 million since 2002. But the company only plans to issue refunds dating back to 2017 — or else it will go to court to delay the whole thing. [Nevada Current]

🎵 BTS Returns to Allegiant Stadium

In news I’m including for the benefit of incoming executive producer and K-pop superfan Layla Muhammad, BTS are reuniting for their first tour in five years and coming to Vegas. The pop idols play three nights in May at Allegiant Stadium (which would be a record for one tour if BTS didn’t already sell out four shows in 2022) with a centralized in-the-round stage to pack in as many fans as possible.
