January 15, 2026 · — Rob Kachelriess
🍹 We’re officially halfway through Dry January and even mocktails are falling victim to inflation — or the nickel n’ diming that defines Las Vegas today.
According to gambling.com, The Palazzo is serving a $20 Matcha Colada, the most expensive mocktail on the Strip, followed closely by the Bellagio, which has a $19 booze-free creation.
It’s enough to make you wanna drink.

💰 Record Set for Campaign War Chest
Gov. Lombardo wrapped up 2025 with nearly $15 million in cash on hand for his reelection bid this year — a record for a sitting Nevada governor this far ahead in a campaign. (Prepare yourself now for the impending onslaught of TV and YouTube ads.) [Fox News]

🚄 Brightline Executives Play Musical Chairs
Brightline’s bringing in a new CEO to oversee the parent company, while the current CEO steps down to become the managing director and give greater focus to the high-speed rail line between Las Vegas and Southern California, which is now double its original budget. I did more work in typing that sentence than the company’s done in actually laying track through the Mojave Desert. [Forbes]
