⛰️ Mt. Charleston visitors get messy

January 27, 2026 · — Rob Kachelriess

🍔 Hey!

I was in Lake Havasu City over the weekend and tried a peanut butter, jelly, bacon, and ice cream burger at The Chair restaurant.

That’s right. Ice cream. I kinda loved it … but I’m having a tough time convincing my City Cast coworkers 🙃

What's CITY Talking About

💸 Are Prediction Markets the New Gambling?

Polymarket and other services in the prediction market allow users to place wagers on real-world events — and business is booming. City Cast Las Vegas explains how predictions work, why they threaten to take business away from Vegas casinos, and how regulators are responding. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]

🚨 Nevada Senators Oppose New ICE Funding

Speaking of which … prediction market traders say there’s close to an 80% chance of a federal government shutdown. Nevada’s two U.S. senators are joining fellow Democrats to oppose additional ICE funding after two Americans were killed by immigration enforcement agents in Minneapolis, setting up yet another political showdown on government spending. 🚘 Fontainebleau Gets Boring

The Fontainebleau is the latest Strip resort to have a Vegas Loop terminal on property, offering direct access to underground Tesla shuttles by Elon Musk’s Boring Company. (Look for it near the south valet.) Unlike Resorts World across the street, the Fontainebleau is allowing anyone to board for free. The hotel is also extending free parking for locals through at least May 31. [KLAS]

⛰️ Sledders Make a Mess on Mt. Charleston

Visitors to Mt. Charleston are enjoying the snow — but doing a lousy job of picking up after themselves. Photos show trash and discarded sleds being left behind. Just remember a simple rule: If you bring something with you, take it with you. [KSNV]

What To Do

🏈 Are you excited for the Super Bowl yet?

I’m more excited about Vegas native Guy Fieri sporting a new “regular guy” look for a commercial set to run during the big game between the Seahawks and the Patriots.
