🏠 Homeowner destroys own driveway
February 23, 2026 · — Rob Kachelriess
🍫 Hope you had a great weekend!
The internet is going wild over the price of a $13 snickers bar at the MGM Grand. Ha!
I'm surprised it wasn’t $15.

What's CITY Talking About
🚔 Terrorism in Bouler City?
Police say a New York man wearing body armor crashed a car loaded with firearms into an electrical substation near Boulder City before killing himself. [KSNV]
- Sheriff Kevin McMahill says it’s just the latest example of suspected terrorism, which is why Metro is launching a project named Meridian to curb threats in Southern Nevada. [KLAS]
- I think that means more gadgets 🕹️ [City Cast Las Vegas ✍️]
💢 Man Destroys Own Driveway After Botch Job
Crews removed and replaced part of a homeowner’s driveway during road work on Robindale. The only problem: It was put back together at a steep angle that made it hard for vehicles to enter and exit. Without any resolution from the contractor or the government, the homeowner jackhammered it apart to create a new dirt-covered driveaway. In the spirit of deflection, the county did point out the home had an illegal gate. [KVVU]
🫵 Fans to Help Finance A’s Stadium
The A’s say $300 million has been spent on finishing the foundation as work continues on the team’s new baseball stadium. Sounds great. But that’s just 15% of the $2 billion price tag. [Associated Press]
- To help billionaire owner John Fisher cover the costs, the A’s are nearing approval on a PSL program. (Pumpkin spice lattes? 😀 Not quite.) It stands for personal seat license, which charges season ticket holders a fee for the honor of sitting in the seats they already purchased. It’s common in the NFL, but only a few other baseball teams do this. [Nevada Independent]
🧑🎨 Does the Arts District Need More … Art?
The Arts District has a growing reputation for bars, beer, and paid parking. But let’s not stray off course. City Cast Las Vegas spotlights a new effort to keep artists and galleries alive in the Arts District. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]

Las Vegas Chatter

🎰 Neighborhood casinos are thriving, while the Strip stagnates. So we asked readers for their favorite locals’ casinos … and there was a clear winner.
Love the South Point. This property really caters to the local community. Just look at the prices for their shows. No fee if bought at the box office. The Dennis Bono Show on Thursdays is a flat rate of $15.00 and comes with a free drink. Check out their restaurants. Great prices and happy hour deals. One of the best buffets in town.
— Jacqueline H.
My favorite casino is South Point! I love their Derby Day festivities and the oyster bar. It's great during NFR.
— Terri H.
🇮🇳 We also got dining recommendations, following our story on Indian restaurants in Las Vegas.
Delhi Indian Cuisine has an amazing buffet during lunch. Their food is fantastic and service goes above and beyond.
— Rahima S.
You forgot Swaad Indian Cuisine. It just opened on Thanksgiving in Chinatown near Spring Mountain and Valley View.
— Marv W.
I love Taj Palace for its Indian buffet, but Mint Indian Bistro, especially the OG Las Vegas location vs. the Henderson spot, gives it a run for the money.
— Don C.
🚧 And our readers continue to question the authority over the Boring Company, which continues to drill underground transportation tunnels beneath our community.
How County Commissioners and other elected leaders are handling the Boring Company project is from the same playbook as how F1 was allowed to access our public rights of way without permits … While the Boring Company activities should be closely scrutinized, the real scrutiny needs to be on elected leaders and how they are responsible for the environment they have created that is contributing to extreme economic and environmental harm.
— Laura McSwain, Water Fairness Coalition
Who the heck is keeping track of Musk's Boring Company? Where are the plans filed for their digging and who is watching the progress and making sure violations and potential safety hazards aren't being overlooked?
— Kenny H.
🙃 Remember my correction after describing the Eastside Cannery as a Henderson casino? Well, I didn’t quite get it right the second time either by saying it was in the City of Las Vegas.
My dude!! It's not within LV city boundaries either! 😅 It's in Sunrise Manor, i.e. unincorporated Clark County.
— Nick C.
Technically, it’s just a smidge outside Sunrise Manor, but I appreciate the laughing emoji. I deserved it.

Where Is It?

I spy lemons at the end of a hallway. Where is it? I’ll give you a hint: It’s at the Bellagio 👀
