April 2, 2026 · — Rob Kachelriess

What's CITY Talking About

🗳️ Election Year Chaos and Confusion

According to the U.S. Constitution, states are in charge of running their own elections, but President Trump just signed an executive order demanding national oversight of voter rolls and limitations on mail-in voting by signing an executive order that’s already facing legal challenges. • So, how does this affect our local elections? 🤔 Nevada Secretary of State joins City Cast Las Vegas to discuss the status of voting in the Silver State and if we’ll still be able to vote by mail. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]

🤬 Congresswoman is F’n Mad

Rep. Susie Lee dropped four F-bombs in one social media post to describe her reaction to President Trump’s attendance at a Supreme Court hearing on birthright citizenship. She deleted the post and followed it up with a profanity-free non-apology. [KSNV]

🎰 Gambling Returns to the Tropicana

Well, kinda. A pop-up casino showed up at the old Tropicana site this week and continues today (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) next to the A’s stadium-in-progress. The “casino” is just a trailer with a few slot machines, but it helps keep the property’s gaming license legally active. The same thing happens every now and then at the site of the long-gone Moulin Rouge. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
