📣 Big news — our spring membership campaign starts today!
Around here, "neighbor" is a verb. It’s not just something you are, it’s something you do. Every story, conversation, and city guide we bring you is our attempt to provide information and context to show up for this city.
When you become a City Cast Las Vegas Neighbor, you help us keep doing that — and you get great perks like:
- A weekly members-only events rundown
- Regular members-only events
- The opportunity to shoutout your favorite local gems on the podcast and in this newsletter
- Brand new: members-only podcast content with extra insight, hot takes, and a little city gossip
Plus, join during this campaign and we'll send you a custom Oxford Pennant — a beautiful American-made wool felt pennant designed just for Las Vegas. Scroll down to take a peek and claim yours!

What's CITY Talking About
👷 “Right-to-Work” Becomes an Election Issue
The upcoming election could not only determine the next governor, but also the role of unions in Nevada. Leading Democratic contender Aaron Ford is promising to sign any bill reversing a 1953 “right-to-work” law that prohibits union membership as a condition of employment. [Nevada Independent]
🤖 Robots Mislead Online Gamblers
Skillz — a Vegas-based gaming company that allows users to play blackjack, bingo, and other online games against each other with real money at stake — won a $420 million fraud verdict against a competitor. Papaya Gaming was forced to pay up after discretely matching players with bots instead of real people, allowing it to grow and overwhelm the marketplace. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
🎰 Tribal Gaming Comes to the Strip
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino remains on track to open in 2027, but the new property is promising more than just a skyline-changing guitar-shaped tower. The resort will be the first on the Strip run by a Native American tribe. City Cast Las Vegas looks at the significance of tribal casinos and how they’re reshaping modern Las Vegas.
