🎉 Flavor Flav’s short parade route
July 15, 2026 · — Rob Kachelriess
🚵 Got plans tomorrow afternoon?
Lee Canyon is welcoming mountain bikers to participate in the first Viva La Gravity race of the season. (It’s all downhill, so gravity does most of the work 👍) Unless you’re in the elite class, registration is free.
Just check the weather before you go ⛅ Any monsoon rain will likely start in the mountains before hitting the valley.

You’re Gonna Hear a Lot About Election Integrity This Year

President Trump will address the nation tomorrow night on a “potpourri” of topics, from the Iran War to reheated conspiracy theories about the 2020 election. [Time]
- Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar gave little thought to a letter from the president, threatening election officials with criminal charges if noncitizens vote in the midterms. Aguilar says safeguards are already in place. [Nevada Independent]
- Nevada revealed new voting machines during primary season to further protect election integrity. [Clark County]
- With that being said, more than 30 mail ballots in rural Lyon County weren’t counted in June. Blame the post office. [Nevada Independent]
- U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen is pushing the Protect Our Polls Act in Washington. The Nevada Democrat says the bill aims to protect state-run elections from federal interference by the military or federal law enforcement. [Las Vegas Sun]
- Gov. Lombardo took a break from his reelection campaign to roll through a red light on a turn near Mandalay Bay. That’s according to the Metro police officer who pulled the former sheriff over in May. No ticket was issued. [KVVU]

What's CITY Talking About
🎥 Nevada Joins Fight Against Media Merger
If you think entertainment options are bad now, imagine if just four companies were responsible for 85% of all movie releases. That could happen if a $110 billion merger between Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery moves forward, affecting the future of TV networks, studios, streaming services, and other media ventures. Nevada is now one of 12 states suing to block those plans.
- City Cast Las Vegas looks at why the lawsuit is relevant to Nevada — and its potential ramifications in an election year. Today’s news roundup also discusses the already gloomy monsoon season and the worst intersections in Las Vegas 🫣 [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
🏠 It’s Getting More Expensive to Live Here
The median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Las Vegas increased from $1,053 to $1,235 over the past seven years. That jump of 17% dramatically outpaces the rent in Los Angeles, which remains higher overall, but actually decreased a bit over the same time period. And if you’re rich, guess what? Luxury home prices are up 14% year over year. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
🥳 Flavor Flav’s Parade Route Revealed
SHE Weekend is coming up to honor female Olympians and other athletes. The idea was hatched by rapper and Vegas resident Flavor Flav on social media — and everybody just kinda got behind it. The celebration begins tomorrow night with a parade at 8 p.m. on the Strip — although just barely, starting in front of the Park MGM and turning down Bruno Mars Drive towards the T-Mobile Arena. [KLAS]
💎 ‘Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding’ Renews Vows with Vegas
A long-running interactive stage production ends, while another returns to take its place. “Marriage Can Be Murder” wrapped up its run at the Rio on Sunday. The theater will be revamped as the new home of “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding,” a show in which dinner guests are also the audience. It has a long history in Vegas — last performing inside Buca di Beppo on the Strip. [Neon/Las Vegas Review-Journal]
